ABOUT YOUR SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS TOUR FROM INVERNESS
Depart Inverness for an optional morning cruise on Loch Ness, Scotland’s most legendary loch. As you glide across its dark waters, enjoy views of the dramatic Highland landscape and the ruins of Urquhart Castle—and maybe even spot the elusive Nessie.
Stop at the Commando Memorial near Spean Bridge for stunning views of the Nevis Range, home to Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest peak. This solemn site honors the WWII commandos who trained in this rugged region.
Continue south to the Glenfinnan Viaduct, an iconic railway bridge made famous by the Harry Potter films. Soak in views of Loch Shiel before heading deeper into the Highlands.
Travel onward through the dramatic landscape of Glencoe, a valley steeped in natural beauty and historic tragedy—the site of the 1692 massacre of Clan MacDonald. Your guide will share stories of the glen’s haunting past as you pass its towering peaks and sweeping vistas.
Next, enter Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, a region of tranquil lochs and wooded hills that marks the gateway to the Lowlands. Enjoy the scenic drive and perhaps a short stop for photos or refreshments along the way.
While returning to Edinburgh, enjoy views Stirling Castle and of The Kelpies, two massive horse-head sculptures that celebrate Scotland’s myth and industry. These striking landmarks offer a memorable finale to your Highland adventure.
Arrive in Edinburgh around 7pm, having experienced some of Scotland’s most iconic landscapes and legends.

Before Your Tour
-
We recommend that you bring warm and/or waterproof clothing, no matter what the forecast appears to be…Scotland’s weather is very unpredictable! And don’t forget your camera to capture all the lovely scenery and wildlife you’ll encounter on your tour (which you can later share with us online). While there are no planned hikes or longer walks during the tour, we encourage wearing comfortable and flat footwear.
-
You are more than welcome to bring along a carry-on bag on the tour which can be packed with essentials for the day, but we would advise keeping this bag as light and small as possible to maximise your comfort onboard. If you’d like to bring along larger luggage, please get in touch to confirm availability.
-
We must remind you that while picturesque and quaint, many of the suppliers in smaller towns do still prefer cash payments. ATM’s are located at some of the stops along the route, and currency exchange services are available in Inverness.
-
Food is readily available at the many of stops on tour, but you are absolutely more than welcome to bring drinks, snacks and a cold packed lunch on board. Hot drinks are permitted but only if they have a secure lid.
-
Some roads are less accessible during the winter period, as Scotland can get both quite rainy, cold and even snowy on occasion. While we will keep to the planned route when we can, you driver/guide may make the decision to use other routes to ensure safety as well as you enjoyment!
